Plicsy targets the latest macOS and Photoshop releases on Apple silicon. We’ve tested a full export on Photoshop 27.9.1 / macOS 27.0. Older versions are outside the compatibility target and are not tested. Intel Macs and Windows are not currently supported.

Plicsy uses Adobe’s original Generator naming parser for supported raster exports. Click Export All, or choose artboards or the selected artboard from the panel menu. Exports are manual; full Generator rendering parity is still being tested. SVG is outside the first release’s scope.

Supported names include folder paths, multiple assets, percentage and pixel sizes, quality suffixes, document-wide default variants, and canvas sizes. For example, 300 x 250 300x250/logo.png writes a 300 × 250 PNG in that folder. Results and unsupported tags are listed in the text report beside your local PSD, or inside the chosen export folder for cloud and never-saved documents.

Yes. Your first export asks you to choose a folder for the images and TXT report. Plicsy remembers a separate folder for each cloud document across restarts, and for each never-saved document during the current plugin session. Change it in Settings → Choose folder. Exporting never saves your source document. Local PSD and PSB files keep their usual export location.

PNG-8, PNG-24, PNG-32, JPEG, static GIF, and lossy or lossless WebP are implemented. PNG-32 and WebP preserve soft transparency. PNG-24 and JPEG use a white background; GIF has hard transparency edges. Use image.webp100% or image.webp10 for lossless WebP. Plain .webp uses lossy quality 90; lower quality tags remain lossy. Animated GIF and SVG are not supported.

Name an asset banner.jpg160kb or banner.webp160kb. Plicsy searches for a quality setting that fits within 160,000 bytes, keeping your requested dimensions. It reuses the rendered image instead of asking Photoshop to render each attempt. If the limit cannot be met, it reports the failure and leaves any existing output file intact. Size limits currently apply to JPEG and WebP only. WebP byte limits use lossy encoding, even when quality 100 fits.

An earlier appearance run passed 72 exports from three small test PSDs using sRGB, Adobe RGB, and Display P3. Full-size PNG artboards matched Photoshop’s sRGB reference exactly; layer and group colors were within one 8-bit level, with identical alpha. The layer/group route has since changed, so those results are a baseline, not a new parity claim for every PSD.

A native regression test now covers full-canvas background renders whose dimensions differ from a layer’s tight bounds. We also ran a full export after the fix on Photoshop 27.9.1 / macOS 27.0. Older host versions are not part of the test matrix. The automated native and JavaScript suites pass.

Next are checks for outside-artboard enlargement, enlarged edges, heavy documents, and more customer installations. Cleanup of unchanged assets from renamed or deleted tags is implemented. Developer ID signing is deferred unless unsigned installation causes problems. We target the latest Photoshop and macOS only.

Exporting does not alter your source content, masks, visibility, or layer names. A separate, optional menu command can rename artboards by their dimensions when you explicitly choose it. That action has a single Undo step.

Apple says general Rosetta support remains available through macOS 27 and becomes limited starting with macOS 28. Plicsy’s export engine is native to Apple silicon and does not depend on Rosetta. Read Apple’s guidance ↗
